GATEWAY COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO HOLD PHYSICAL THERAPY PROGRAM OPEN HOUSE
PHOENIX, Arizona – January 4, 2006 – GateWay Community College today announced it will host an open house for students interested in the Physical Therapist Assisting program on Tuesday, January 10 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. in room CHCE 2119, the Physical Therapy lab, in the Center for Health Careers Education (the north building on campus).
The event, designed to service GateWay Community College prospective students and the community at large, is free and is open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with GateWay Community College faculty in the Physical Therapist Assisting program and learn about career opportunities within the field.
Physical Therapist Assistants are expected to be among the fastest growing occupations. In Arizona, the job market for Physical Therapist Assistants is expected to increase by 10% annually, creating about 155 new jobs a year for the next five to six years. According to the U.S. Department of Labor and Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, Physical Therapist Assistants can earn from $14.55 to $20.57 an hour, for an average annual salary of $30,260 to $42,780.
