The Office of Grants Development
The Office of Grants Development DOES:
- Assist faculty and staff in identifying funding sources and in locating application forms and guidelines.
- Review funding literature and calls funding opportunities to the attention of the appropriate faculty and staff.
- Research possible funding sources to support activities and initiatives identified by faculty and staff.
- Read grant proposals and make suggestions for improvement if asked by the preparer.
- Provide certain types of descriptive material (boilerplate) and help with obtaining statistical documentation in certain areas.
- Aid in the submission process. All proposal submissions that are not individual awards (fellowships, learning grants, etc.) should be submitted to the funding agency by the Grants Office. We will assist with obtaining signatures on proposals, copying, and mailing.
- ALMOST anything else that will aid the grant writing and submission process given the restraints of time and personnel.
The Office of Grants Development DOES NOT:
- Make judgments about the worth of proposals. The decision on whether a proposal is in the best interest of the College and whether or not it should be submitted is left to the preparer and appropriate Administrator(s). Normally the approval of the Chair, Supervisor, Vice President and/or College President are required.
